WWII Lockheed Ventura Near Talasea

On what was once the Talasea air strip in West New Britain, Papua New Guinea, you can find a World War II era Lockheed Ventura aircraft that has long been abandoned in the lush tropical landscape. In its current condition, the foliage is growing on and around the relic. Despite the plant growth inside, you can still walk around inside the plane and imagine what it would have looked like back in its functional days. The plane remains relatively in good condition compared to nearby plane sites. You can still see the Allied star painted on the side of the plane.
